Job Opportunity

The University of Sydney seeks a Senior Lecturer/Associate Professor in Rheumatology to contribute to teaching and research in the Specialty of Rheumatology, Sydney Medical School.

  • Lead the development and maintenance of a clinical, translational or basic science research program relevant to Rheumatology.
  • Implement and promote clinical/education programs for MD students relating to Rheumatology.
  • Provide clinical care as part of the healthcare team in the Specialty of Rheumatology, including actively contributing to Rheumatology Department activities.
  • Promote a culture that is collaborative, team-oriented and respectful of staff skill sets and opinions.
About You
  • Have a PhD in a field relevant to Rheumatology.
  • Be registered as a medical practitioner in NSW with recognition by AHPRA as a Specialist Rheumatologist and Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of Physicians, or equivalent.
  • Have an emerging national/international reputation and research track record, including publications in peer-reviewed international journals and success in obtaining research funding and supervision of research students.
  • Have experience in designing, implementing and evaluating teaching and learning initiatives within Rheumatology.
  • Have a network of relationships with key academic and professional institutions, partners and stakeholders that can enhance the standing of the Specialty, Hospital/School/Faculty and University.
