Job Title: Associate Professor of Rheumatology

We are seeking an experienced and accomplished academic to fill a Senior Lecturer/Associate Professor position in the Specialty of Rheumatology at Westmead Clinical School. The ideal candidate will have a strong research track record, excellent clinical skills, and a passion for teaching.

About the Position
  • This is a full-time appointment as an academic rheumatologist at Westmead Clinical School, Sydney Medical School, including appointment as clinical academic rheumatologist with Western Sydney Local Health District (WSLHD).
Responsibilities
  • To provide leadership in developing and maintaining a clinical, translational or basic science research program relevant to Rheumatology.
  • To provide leadership in the development, implementation and promotion of clinical/education programs for MD students relating to Rheumatology.
  • To provide clinical care as part of the healthcare team in the Specialty of Rheumatology.
Requirements
  • A PhD in a field relevant to Rheumatology.
  • Registration as a medical practitioner in NSW with recognition by AHPRA as a Specialist Rheumatologist and Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of Physicians, or equivalent.
  • An emerging national/international reputation and research track record, including publications in peer-reviewed international journals and success in obtaining research funding and supervision of research students.
  • Experience in designing, implementing, and evaluating teaching and learning initiatives within Rheumatology.
