Job Title: Associate Professor of Rheumatology

We are seeking a distinguished academic leader to contribute to the teaching and research in the Specialty of Rheumatology.

About the Opportunity
  • This is an exceptional opportunity for a Senior Lecturer/Associate Professor in Rheumatology to join our faculty and make a meaningful impact on patient care, education, and research.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain a clinical, translational or basic science research program relevant to Rheumatology, advancing our understanding of the field and improving patient outcomes.
  • Provide leadership in the development, implementation, and promotion of clinical/education programs for MD students relating to Rheumatology, ensuring excellence in education and training.
  • Contribute to clinical care as part of the healthcare team in the Specialty of Rheumatology, actively participating in departmental activities and promoting quality and safety improvements.
  • Promote a culture that values collaboration, teamwork, and respect among staff members, fostering a positive work environment.
About You

We seek an individual with a PhD in a field relevant to Rheumatology, registered as a medical practitioner in NSW with recognition by AHPRA as a Specialist Rheumatologist, and Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of Physicians, or equivalent. The ideal candidate will have an emerging national/international reputation and research track record, including publications in peer-reviewed international journals and success in obtaining research funding and supervising research students.

They should also have experience in designing, implementing, and evaluating teaching and learning initiatives within Rheumatology, as well as a network of relationships with key academic and professional institutions, partners, and stakeholders that can be leveraged to enhance the standing of the Specialty, Hospital/School/Faculty, and University.
