We are seeking a highly qualified professional to fill the position of Academic Rheumatologist.

Job Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and maintaining a clinical, translational or basic science research program relevant to Rheumatology. They will also provide leadership in the development, implementation and promotion of clinical/education programs for MD students relating to Rheumatology.

In addition, the successful candidate will provide clinical care as part of the healthcare team in the Specialty of Rheumatology, including actively contributing to Rheumatology Department activities, e.g. quality and safety and service improvement; and promote a culture that is collaborative, team-oriented and one that respects the skill sets and opinions of all staff.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • PhD in a field relevant to Rheumatology
  • Registered as a medical practitioner in NSW with recognition by AHPRA as a Specialist Rheumatologist and Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of Physicians, or equivalent
  • Emerging national/international reputation and research track record, including publications in peer-reviewed international journals and success in obtaining research funding and supervision of research students
  • Experience in designing, implementing, and evaluating teaching and learning initiatives within Rheumatology
  • Strong network of relationships with key academic and professional institutions, partners and stakeholders that can enhance the standing of the Specialty
