The Role
We're seeking an experienced Internal Communications Strategist and Content Developer to join our team. As a key member of our communications team, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping the voice, culture, and connectivity of our business. Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Content Creation: Plan, edit, write, proofread, and distribute content across all internal communications channels, including emails, intranet articles, and social media posts.
- Channel Management: Oversee all aspects of internal communications channels, including administration, content management, user experience, and system updates.
- Evaluation and Reporting: Regularly evaluate the performance of internal communication channels and recommend improvements to boost team member engagement. Track and assess the effectiveness of communications using key metrics (e.g., engagement rates, viewership, team member feedback) and generate performance reports.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Advise and support communications activities based on business objectives and stakeholder feedback, collaborating closely with senior stakeholders, driving key projects, and presenting at a high level.
Your Background
To succeed in this role, you'll need a minimum of 6+ years' experience in communications, preferably in a retail or complex corporate environment. You'll possess a proven ability to build strong partnerships with internal stakeholders at all levels, aligning communication strategies with business and cultural goals. Your skills and qualifications should include:
- Tertiary qualification in communications, public relations, or journalism.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, with experience in Adobe Creative ideal.
- Excellent communications and editing skills – interpersonal, written, and presentation.
- Strong stakeholder management and negotiating skills – ability to successfully engage with a large and diverse network of internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
