Support Practitioner

We are seeking a Support Practitioner to provide high-quality support to children, young people, and families in our community.

The successful candidate will play a vital role in facilitating intake, screening, and placement of children and young people with foster and kinship care families.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Care Assessment and Placement: Facilitate the assessment and placement of children and young people into foster and kinship care families.
  • Therapeutic Interventions: Deliver assessments, crisis support, and therapeutic interventions to ensure the safety and well-being of children and young people.
  • Care Planning: Develop and evaluate care plans tailored to individual needs.
  • Foster Care Recruitment: Recruit, assess, and support foster and kinship carers, including facilitating approval processes.
  • Case Management: Lead case management planning and maintain accurate client records.

Requirements:
  • A relevant degree in social work or psychology, or equivalent experience.
  • Strong understanding of child protection laws and policies.

  • A current driver's licence, National Police Check, and Working with Children (Blue Card).
