
Child Safety and Wellbeing Specialist

The Child Protection Wellbeing Manager oversees the development and implementation of strategies to promote child safety, health, and wellbeing.
Leading key initiatives, this role is pivotal in maintaining a safe and healthy environment for children.
- Maintain and improve policies related to medical conditions, administration of medication, and emergency response to adverse events.
- Review and monitor infection control practices across all facilities, providing information and training as needed.
- Develop and maintain policies and programs that meet legislative requirements, ensuring compliance and best practices.
- Understand and maintain up-to-date information regarding risk profiles and establish systems to mitigate risks and prevent harm.
- Ensure leaders and team members understand Child Safe Standards and mandatory reporting obligations.
- Implement and monitor self-assessment action plans to support centres in meeting Child Safe Standards.
- Develop resources for centre-based champions to promote awareness and embed a culture of child protection.
- Investigate incidents, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
To be successful in this role, you will require:
- Early Childhood Education and Care Qualification.
- A qualification in social work, welfare, or equivalent.
- Knowledge of child protection systems and principles.
- Ability to develop policies and procedures based on legislation and research.
- Experience in investigations, root cause analysis, and critical reflection.
- Demonstrated leadership skills in risk assessment and incident management.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to provide comprehensive reporting and analytics.
- Flexibility to undertake travel and hold a valid driver's license.
- Current Working with Children Check or willingness to obtain upon commencement.
