Animal Care Specialist

As an Animal Care Specialist, you will play a vital role in ensuring the welfare of animals in our care.

This is a highly rewarding and challenging position that requires a passion for animal welfare and excellent communication skills.

You will be working with a dedicated team to provide high-quality animal care, including administering routine veterinary medications and treatments, maintaining and cleaning animal housing, and providing enrichment and behaviour management programs for animals.

The ideal candidate will have a Certificate III in Animal Studies or equivalent, knowledge and experience with animal care in a professional environment, and previous experience working with dogs, cats, and livestock.

In addition to your technical skills, you will need to possess exceptional customer service skills and be able to maintain accurate records using digital systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Administer routine veterinary medications and treatments to animals in care.
  • Maintain and clean animal housing to a high standard.
  • Provide enrichment and behavior management programs for animals.
  • Work with a dedicated team to ensure the welfare of animals in care.
  • Assist customers with pet meet and greets and adoptions.
  • Maintain accurate records using digital systems.
Requirements:
  • Certificate III in Animal Studies or equivalent.
  • Knowledge and experience with animal care in a professional environment.
  • Previous experience working with dogs, cats, and livestock.
  • National Police Clearance Certificate.
  • Experience using digital management software and data entry.
  • Open driver's license.
