Role Overview

As a dedicated professional, you will join a network of Regional Social Media Communications Officers working across Queensland to support their local police by driving and creating on-line content, directly engaging with communities on-line, and expanding and developing their local police digital presence. This role is part of a larger initiative to keep local communities informed, engaged, and promoting the Queensland Police Service.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement an effective online engagement strategy to achieve successful interaction with Queensland communities.
  • Design and create engaging social media content for diverse online audiences.
  • Engage in online discussions across various social media platforms to promote crime prevention initiatives, maintain community confidence, and provide information on public safety matters.
  • Collaborate with the QPS digital intelligence, Media and Public Affairs, and Crime Prevention teams to execute operational and organisational objectives.
  • Support the moderation of high-priority social media content published across QPS platforms.
  • Provide social media training to relevant internal staff to ensure consistency of tone and approach to social media engagement.
Requirements:
  • Formal qualifications and/or experience in communications, media, and/or marketing will be favourably considered.
