Lead Our Organisation Forward

As a senior professional, you will be part of an experienced leadership team guiding our organisation towards its vision of empowering people with disabilities to live rich and meaningful lives in an inclusive community.

We are seeking expressions of interest for an additional voluntary non-executive director. The right candidate will have the ability to contribute to our overall strategic direction, work collaboratively with management, and support the growth of our organisation in a sound, diligent, caring, and sustainable way.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Strategic direction and decision-making as part of the leadership team;
  • Collaboration with management to develop strategies for organisational growth;
  • Supporting the development and implementation of policies and procedures that align with our mission and values;
  • Fostering strong relationships with stakeholders, including staff, volunteers, and the broader community.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

· A commitment to community service and the not-for-profit sector;
· An understanding of operating in regional areas;
· An understanding of and experience in governance;
· Ability to relate to diverse groups of stakeholders;
· Willingness to help lead and grow the organisation in a sound, diligent, caring, and sustainable way.
People from Indigenous, culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds are encouraged to apply.

Benefits:

Appointment terms are for 3 years with the option of further terms. Board meetings are conducted monthly, usually from 5:30pm on a weekday in Lismore NSW, with teleconference facility plus a one-day strategy session twice a year. If you live or work in Lismore or Northern NSW, it would be great but is not essential.
