About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Design Review Officer and Senior Design Review Officer to join our team at the Australian Institute of Landscape Architects. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in supporting the State Design Review Panel (SDRP) and other design review activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with proponent groups, referral agencies, design teams, and stakeholders to support the SDRP and other design review activities.
  • Liaise with proponent groups, design teams, and stakeholders to case manage proposals through the design review process.
  • Assist in planning design review sessions, preparing briefing papers/presentations, and well-written, clear, and concise design review reports.
  • Support and guide other Design Review Officers in undertaking similar duties.
  • Provide advice on design quality related matters as required by the Design and Built Environment directorate.
Requirements
  • An accredited tertiary degree qualification in Architecture, Landscape Architecture, Urban Design, or Urban and Regional Planning and/or Development.
  • Demonstrated experience in the delivery of architectural, landscape architectural, or urban design services, particularly pre-design, design, and implementation of projects.
  • Demonstrated awareness of the design principles of State Planning Policy 7.0: Design of the Built Environment.
  • Well-developed visual, written, and verbal communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Knowledge of current and emerging trends in built environment design, development, and planning.
Senior Design Review Officer
  • An accredited tertiary degree qualification in Architecture, Landscape Architecture, Urban Design, or Urban and Regional Planning and/or Development.
  • Demonstrated experience in the delivery of architectural, landscape architectural, or urban design services, particularly pre-design, design, and implementation of complex projects.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the design principles of State Planning Policy 7.0: Design of the Built Environment.
  • Excellent visual, written, and verbal communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Knowledge of current and emerging trends in built environment design, development, and planning.
