About the Position

We are seeking a highly experienced Structural Design Engineering Manager to join our team at Meriton Group. As a key member of our engineering department, you will be responsible for managing the design and engineering of our tall building developments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the delivery of design documentation from external consultants.
  • Coordinate the interface between external engineers and architects.
  • Develop conceptual scheme designs for tall buildings and deep retention systems at DA stages.
  • Peer review consultants' ETABS models and designs.
  • Review consultants' designs for code compliance and adherence to Meriton's construction methods.
  • Identify value engineering opportunities to minimize construction costs and/or program.
  • Prepare, manage, and review tenders for various subcontracts.
  • Provide technical solutions to manage design changes and site conditions.
Requirements
  • 10+ years of experience in a structural engineering role, ideally at Associate or Principal level, working with a developer or builder.
  • Proven experience in high-rise/tall buildings of over 50 storeys, as a design engineer with a full understanding of local construction methodologies.
  • Understanding and experience with Quality Assurance and risk assessment methodologies.
  • Strong understanding of structures, particularly concrete framed buildings, structural steel, PT slabs, and precast elements.
  • Experience with ETABS, STRAND7, and Ram Concept (PT & RC).
  • High level of understanding of wind scopes, reports, and analysis.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and problem-solve.
  • Effective communication and management skills.
