As a seasoned professional in risk management, you will be responsible for leading the operational risk and control team within Finance. The primary objective is to embed Commonwealth Bank's Operational Risk Management Framework across Financial Services. You will oversee risk governance, identification, and mitigation, as well as central compliance monitoring and analysis.

  • Developing strong relationships with senior leaders to provide guidance on risk-related matters.
  • Driving a robust risk culture within Group Finance by effectively managing risks, controls, incidents, and issues.
  • Managing control development, assessments, testing, and scheduling, and providing advice in accordance with the risk management framework.
  • Overseeing root cause analysis of issues and incidents, and ensuring they are managed to conclusion.

The ideal candidate will possess experience in financial services line 1 operational risk or audit roles, a Chartered Accountant (CA) qualification, and a sound understanding of risk and compliance management policies and frameworks. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, demonstrated curiosity, and strong attention to detail are also essential qualities.
