About the Role

U@MQ is seeking a full-time Development Swimming Coach to join their Sports and Aquatics Centre team.

The successful candidate will deliver face-to-face training sessions for 14 & Under Development program, targeting Metropolitan & State Age qualifiers.

  • You have the ability to work well in a team environment, as well as the initiative to work independently.">
  • You are responsible for developing swimmers from junior transition phase through to Junior Competition phase within the MQU Squad program.">
  • You must be able to develop and implement seasonal training plans for junior development aged swimmers, focusing on technical stroke correction and competition-based performance.">
  • You should be able to provide guidance to swimmers of all abilities, adapting stroke models to suit varying skill levels.">

Key Responsibilities

  • Coach and develop swimmers from junior transition phase through to Junior Competition phase within the MQU Squad program.">
  • Develop and implement seasonal training plans for junior development aged swimmers, focusing on technical stroke correction and competition-based performance.">
  • Provide guidance to swimmers of all abilities, adapting stroke models to suit varying skill levels.">
  • Attend and coach at MQU club races and internal/external competitions.">
  • Plan and coordinate MQU internal club racing opportunities in consultation with the Head Coach.">
  • Develop and implement the MQU Swimming Club volunteer committee.">
  • Collaborate with the Head Coach and Age Group Swimming Coach on student retention activities.">
  • Assist with squad program development through use of management systems.">
  • Coach School Holiday Squad Programs.">
  • Maintain accurate athletes/swimmers' progression records.">
  • Complete administrative duties, including responding to parent enquiries and providing student feedback.">
