This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned flooding and hydrology expert to join our team in Brisbane. As part of our QLD-based team, you will play a pivotal role in conducting cutting-edge hydrologic and hydraulic modelling, assessing flood risk, and delivering innovative solutions for flood management across diverse sectors.
The successful candidate will possess a deep understanding of flood policy, state legislation, and approval pathways. They will also be able to demonstrate experience in flood assessments, hydrology, and hydraulic modelling in consulting practices in Australia (QLD preferred).
The ideal candidate will be a skilled modeller with the ability to develop and interpret complex hydrology and hydraulic models using software such as RORB, URBS, WBNM, TUFLOW, HEC-RAS, and others. Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential, with the ability to produce clear and meaningful reporting and present at client, stakeholder, and community meetings.
As an experienced flooding and hydrology expert, you will work closely with our multi-disciplinary teams and clients to deliver high-quality outcomes on time and within budget. You will also have opportunities to learn from and work alongside experienced engineers, receiving mentorship and feedback to support your technical development.
In this role, you will be responsible for:
- Conducting comprehensive hydrologic and hydraulic modelling and assessing flood risk
- Providing innovative solutions for flood management across various sectors
- Collaborating with internal teams and external stakeholders to meet project objectives
- Preparing technical documentation, including reports, memos, and presentations
- Developing and interpreting flood model results and communicating findings to clients and stakeholders
