Job Title: Senior Hydrologist

BG&E is seeking an experienced hydrologist to lead their expanding team in QLD. This role will play a key part in conducting hydrologic and hydraulic modelling, assessing flood risk, and providing innovative solutions for flood management across various sectors.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of flood risk using advanced hydrologic and hydraulic models.
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to develop and implement effective flood management strategies.
  • Develop and interpret complex flood model results and communicate findings to clients and stakeholders in a clear and professional manner.
  • Prepare high-quality technical documentation, including reports, memos, and presentations, with guidance from senior team members.
  • Stay up-to-date with current industry standards, techniques, and tools.
Requirements:
  • Qualifications in Civil/Environmental Engineering or Environmental Science.
  • More than 3 years' experience in flood assessments, hydrology, and hydraulic modelling in consulting practices in Australia (QLD preferred).
  • Expertise in developing and interpreting complex hydrologic and hydraulic models.
  • Understanding of the principles and approaches of Australian Rainfall and Runoff 2019, regional and local procedures.
  • Knowledge of hydrologic and hydraulic modelling packages, such as RORB, URBS, WBNM, TUFLOW, HEC-RAS, and their advantages and limitations.
