Job Title: Senior Occupational Health and Safety Specialist OHS Superintendent Job Description: This position is responsible for establishing, reviewing and implementing occupational health and safety (OHS) processes and standards in accordance with legislative requirements and corporate guidelines. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in OHS, preferably in the mining industry, and experience in developing, planning and implementing high standards of work health and safety policies. Duties and Responsibilities: 
  1. Support open pit mining operations by reviewing, developing, implementing and training OHS systems, procedures and processes.
  2. Implement and monitor safety management systems to ensure compliance with legislative requirements.
  3. Oversee contractor compliance with safety standards and systems.
  4. Drive continuous improvement in safety performance through proactive engagement with site leaders.
  5. BUILD AND MAINTAIN STRONG WORKING RELATIONSHIPS WITH INTERNAL AND SUBSIDIARY OHS PERSONNEL, TRAINING PROVIDERS AND SUPPLIERS.
 Requirements: To be successful in this role, you will need to have: 
  • Tertiary qualifications in OHS or related disciplines.
  • 5+ years' experience working in open pit mining in a senior OHS or leadership role.
  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of developing mining OHS systems and processes aligned with legislative requirements.
  • Strong knowledge of safety management systems, auditing and incident reporting and investigation.
  • High level of personal organisational and communication skills.
