Job Title: Occupational Health and Safety Specialist
We are seeking a highly skilled Occupational Health and Safety Specialist to join our team on the Scarborough project. This role will be instrumental in ensuring the successful installation of the 440 km dry gas pipeline from the Floating Production Unit to the onshore LNG plant.
Key Responsibilities:
- Verifying and influencing Contractors' work product and practices to ensure conformance and compliance with approved plans.
- Liaising with Contractor HSE teams to support site HSE requirements, processes, and programs.
- Providing HSE support to the project team for implementation of Company HSE Management Plan and Verification Plan activities.
- Leading Company HSE training and awareness programs as required.
- Supporting and coordinating Company-led HSE activities.
- Supporting a collaborative project culture and positive team climate.
- Managing the Company event reporting system for all Project-related events, investigations, and actions.
- Monitoring Contractors' planning and work activities and ensuring risk management processes have been applied.
- Participating in Contractor-led HSE activities, providing insights and support as required.
- Providing technical HS advice and support to the project team.
- Performing HSE reporting to the project HSE Manager and Site Leadership team.
Requirements:
- Degree or above in Work, Health and Safety or related field.
- Minimum 5+ years working in HSE within oil and gas or construction industry.
- Formal root cause investigation and analysis training.
- Thorough understanding of all relevant WA Work, Health and Safety Legislation.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Continuous improvement mindset and proactive approach to problem solving.
- Able to manage and influence multiple stakeholders.
- Site-based construction experience in Australia.
Preferred Requirements:
- Previous experience working with offshore contractors.
- High level of awareness in safe working practices associated with the design, construction, pre-commissioning, commissioning of onshore gas facilities.
- Strong Process Safety knowledge and experience.
- Experience leading and managing diverse teams.
- Completed Industry Safety Induction (Safer Together) or able to demonstrate 12 months O&G experience within the last 2 years for an 'experienced worker' exemption.
