Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity for experienced professionals to provide support to individuals with physical and mental disabilities in the Perth region.

As a Disability Support Worker, you will play a vital role in facilitating the delivery of quality services and achieving positive outcomes with service users in a supportive environment.

You will be responsible for actively supporting the individual needs of participants, creating a safe environment, and promoting their independence and confidence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support participants to work towards achieving their individual goals and objectives.
  • Provide daily living support, including cooking, housekeeping, hygiene, shopping, medication administration, and community access.
  • Support participants in building their confidence and self-esteem.
  • Liaise and collaborate with clients, their families, and community agencies to ensure comprehensive support.
  • Monitor and review the participant's progress through the service and against the support plan.
  • Utilize positive behaviour strategies to promote a supportive environment.
  • Work in accordance with policies and procedures, including privacy and confidentiality.

Required Skills and Qualifications

The successful candidate will possess:

  • A qualification in community, disability, or individual support, aged care, or mental health.
  • Experience working with clients with challenging behaviours.
  • Well-developed verbal and written communication skills.
  • A current Driver Licence and reliable vehicle.
  • 100-point check ID and valid visa/working rights in Australia.
  • First aid/CPR certification, Medication cert, Manual handling cert, Working with children check, NDIS clearance check, NDIS orientation module cert, Covid-19 Vaccination evidence (1st, 2nd and booster doses), Hand hygiene cert, and Covid-19 infection control cert.
