About the role

Perth Care and Support is seeking experienced and compassionate Disability Support Workers (yes, several) to join our team in Perth, WA. In this casual role, you will provide exceptional person-centred care and support to individuals with a range of disabilities, helping them to live independently and achieve their personal goals.

We are looking for staff with specialised experience caring for participants suffering with acute brain injury, both short and long-term memory loss, and able to commit to ongoing support of our clients, who are loyal, reliable and treat our clients like they would their own family.

What you'll be doing

  • Assisting clients with daily living activities such as personal care, meal preparation, and household tasks
  • Engaging clients in recreational and social activities to promote their wellbeing and community inclusion
  • Advocating for clients' rights and ensuring their needs are met in a respectful and empowering manner
  • Collaborating with the wider care team to develop and implement personalised support plans
  • Maintaining detailed records and documentation to support the delivery of high-quality care
  • Adhering to all relevant policies, procedures, and legislative requirements

What we're looking for

  • Certificate III or IV in Disability or a related field
  • Demonstrated experience in providing person-centred care and support to individuals with disabilities
  • Minimum 12 months' experience in disability support, preferably with brain injury clients
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and connect with clients
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills, with a focus on promoting client independence
  • Flexibility to work a range of shifts, including mornings, evenings, and weekends
  • A valid driver's licence, access to a reliable registered vehicle with comprehensive insurance
  • A passion for making a positive difference in the lives of people with disabilities
  • Current NDIS Worker Screening Check (or ability to obtain one)
  • Current First Aid and CPR certificates (or willingness to obtain)
  • Current National Police Check (or ability to obtain one)
