  • The Infant Child and Youth Mental Health Service (ICYMHS) provides clinical and developmental inpatient and community mental health services through various service units:
  • Child Inpatient Psychiatry Unit,
  • Adolescent Inpatient Psychiatry Unit,
  • Early Intervention Child and Family Residential Service,
  • Community infant child and youth teams,
  • Outreach teams - Adolescent Intensive Mobile, Youth Early Psychosis and Youth Brief Intervention,
  • Specialist clinicians and teams

About the Role

As a Carer Consultant, you will support the service to improve and expand carer engagement in co-design projects across the service. You will work with other leaders on co-designing and implementing service improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support carers with their young person who are accessing ICYMHS,
  • Work with other leaders on co-designing and implementing service improvement initiatives,
  • Support and work with other lived experience workforce employees

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

  • Relevant qualifications and/or experience,
  • Significant personal lived experience as a consumer who has accessed area mental health services,
  • The ability to work with and advocate for the needs of carers of all backgrounds, genders, sexualities, cultures, and abilities,
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to present at forums and meetings
