About Empowering Recovery
We are seeking a dedicated individual to join our team as a Peer Support Worker.
As a Peer Support Worker, you will play a vital part of our multi-disciplinary team. Your lived experience of recovery from mental illness or caring for someone with a mental illness is essential in instilling confidence and hope in others about their journey towards recovery.
Key Responsibilities:
• Engage with guests and develop trusting relationships based on mutual respect.
• Learn about each guest's interests, connections with family and friends, and work together to build their capacity to be part of their community.
• Collaborate with guests to engage with the Head to Health Model of care, including collaborative support and care planning.
• Participate in regular supervision, training, and development activities to enhance your skills and knowledge.
Mandatory Requirements:
• Lived experience of mental illness, mental health crisis, or caring for someone with a mental illness.
• Experience with the public or private mental health system.
• Current Vic Working with Children Check.
• Police check (refer to PD) - disclosable outcomes considered.
• Ongoing comprehensive Learning and Development training.
