Empowerment and Employment Support Specialist

Are you passionate about empowering individuals with disabilities to achieve their employment goals?

We are seeking an enthusiastic and compassionate Employment Support Mentor to join our team. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in supporting participants in working towards and achieving their employment-related goals.

About the Role:

  • Provide one-on-one support to participants in various employment-related activities, tailored to meet their individual needs and aspirations.
  • Assist participants with on-the-job training and building capacity around work skills, fostering a sense of confidence and independence.
  • Explore employment options and assist participants in preparing for work life, including resume and cover letter writing and practicing for mock interviews.
  • Support participants with travel training, including navigating public transport, promoting safe and independent travel.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement personalized support plans for each participant, ensuring seamless coordination and effective outcomes.

Requirements:

  • Previous relevant experience, preferably in supporting individuals with disabilities or in an employment services environment, demonstrating a commitment to empowering others.
  • A valid Australian Driver's License, enabling participants to access a wider range of job opportunities.
  • A Working with Children Check, ensuring a safe and secure environment for all participants.
  • An NDIS Workers Screening Check, upholding the highest standards of professionalism and integrity.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, facilitating effective relationships with participants, colleagues, and other stakeholders.
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team, adapting to changing circumstances and priorities.
  • A passion for making a positive impact on the lives of people with disabilities, driving meaningful change and improvement.
