Director of Infrastructure Operations

The Director of Infrastructure Operations will report to the Chief Information Officer and be responsible for managing a nationally dispersed section that supports the ICT infrastructure that underpins ACIC systems. The section has four teams consisting of Technical Assurance, Network Operations, Server Operations, and Storage and Database Operations.
Key Responsibilities:- Ensure Infrastructure Operations is aligned to the strategic objectives of the organisation, outlined within key strategic documents such as the Corporate Plan, ACIC ICT Strategy, Cyber Security Strategy, and Cloud Strategy.
- Lead the section in achieving the business plan, ensuring excellence in delivery with a strong customer-centric culture.
- Champion cyber security maturity, ensuring the section uplifts and maintains ACIC's cyber security maturity targets.
- Develop and foster relationships both internally and with strategic partners across private and public sectors.
- Act as the critical point of contact for major incident escalations that require strategic involvement for successful resolution.
- Perform project board executive roles across multiple ICT Infrastructure projects, ensuring proactive support is provided to the project teams to remove roadblocks and provide strategic guidance and sound judgement to successfully deliver and realise the associated benefits.
- Input into the operating and capital budgets for the Chief Information Officer branch, tracking spending, renewals, and service contracts in partnership with Finance, Procurement, and Governance teams.
- Prepare briefs, submissions, and reports to support information technology and business change decision-making by ACIC governance committees and the Executive.
To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate the following experience, skills, and attributes:
- Proven track record of leading and inspiring multidisciplinary teams within complex ICT infrastructure environments.
- Extensive experience in steering ICT infrastructure initiatives, serving as a Senior Responsible Owner or Senior Supplier.
- A strategic thinker with the ability to shape and guide strategic directions, aligning business plans with organisational objectives.
- A dynamic approach to delivery, evidenced by a consistent history of achieving tangible outcomes.
Tertiary qualifications in IT or a related discipline.
Eligibility- Citizenship: To be eligible for employment with the ACIC, applicants must be an Australian citizen.
- Security Clearance: The Australian community expects ACIC employees to maintain the highest levels of security and integrity. Successful applicants will be required to obtain and maintain a minimum Negative Vetting 1 security clearance.
- Pre-Employment Screening: All candidates must satisfy an Organisational Suitability Assessment (OSA) prior to being offered employment at the ACIC.
