Your New Role

As an Executive Officer (EL2), you will be responsible for:

  • Establishing strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, representing the agency and negotiating on its behalf.
  • Providing project management support services and strategic advice to the Executive Leadership Team.
  • Coordinating correspondence, reports, risk assessments, and program documentation, as well as supporting strategic projects and executive-led initiatives.
  • Directing enquiries and requests from the CEO, Board, and other channels to relevant areas, providing advice to the ELT on responses.
  • Drafting papers for internal governance committees, the CEO, Minister, the Board, and others.
  • Reporting to the Board, Sub-Committees, and the Executive Management Group via papers sponsored by the ELT.
  • Facilitating advice provision from the ELT to others within the Agency and assisting with document clearance.
  • Ensuring timely submission of items for clearance and adherence to process standards across key functional areas.
  • Managing executive budgets and procurement exercises.
  • Managing Agency governance matters, including QTBs, Senate Estimates Briefs, and Ministerial correspondence.
Key Requirements

  • Strong analytical and communication skills.
  • A high level of interpersonal and stakeholder management skills, enabling effective liaison with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders on behalf of the agency.
  • The ability to identify and understand problems and opportunities through data analysis and interpretation.
  • The capacity to initiate change, describe reasons for it, and identify associated risks.
  • A demonstrated ability to comprehend complex issues and develop solutions using your initiative and a solutions-focused approach.
  • Organisational skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to achieving results through personal responsibility and teamwork.
