Water Quality Management System Framework Specialist

WaterNSW is seeking an experienced Water Quality Management System Framework Specialist to join our team. This role offers the flexibility to work around life, with a focus on developing and implementing Water Quality Management System (WQMS) frameworks to meet business requirements and comply with Australian Drinking Water Guidelines (ADWG) or any requirements specified by NSW Health.
This is an opportunity to work with an essential organisation creating a more sustainable future for the state. The successful candidate will provide specialist technical advice and support across WaterNSW to deliver water quality management policies, strategies, plans and standards, and produce reporting required under the Water Quality System and regulatory requirements.
The ideal candidate will have a tertiary qualification in engineering, science or a related discipline, with significant experience working in the development of supporting and/or implementation of documentation related to Drinking water quality management, including monitoring programs, procedures, risk assessments, incident reporting and investigations, etc.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading the development, implementation and continuous improvement of WQMS frameworks to meet business requirements and comply with ADWG or any requirements specified by NSW Health.
- Providing specialist technical advice and support across WaterNSW to deliver water quality management policies, strategies, plans and standards, and produce reporting required under the Water Quality System and regulatory requirements.
- Managing the delivery of assurance activities (such as system audits & system health checks) of the WQMS and processes to ensure continued compliance with the Water Quality Policy and Operating Licence(s), including management oversight of external consultants delivering co-sourced internal audits.
- Undertaking extensive engagement with stakeholders, customers and regulators to develop relevant WQMS supporting documentation & support its implementation and manage the adherence to these activities across the business.
- Ongoing review of systems and frameworks to drive optimisation of WQMS and associated reporting, e.g., automation, accuracy, adequacy of indicators.
