Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Hydrology Specialist to join our team at Charterhouse. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the development and delivery of high-priority projects and ecological monitoring activities in the field of ecohydrology.

About the Role

This Contract role will be based in Parramatta, NSW, and involves working on a part-time basis (35 hours per week). The successful candidate will have expertise in hydrology, aquatic ecology, and flow response monitoring and evaluation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide specialist expertise in ecohydrology and evaluation to support effective decision-making in natural resource management.
  • Analyse, model, and interpret hydrological information to develop flow-ecology relationships and models.
  • Research and develop standards and best practice in hydrology, aquatic ecology, and flow response monitoring and evaluation methods.
  • Plan, monitor, and manage large multidisciplinary projects, contracts, and teams to deliver effective natural resource management outcomes.
  • Advise internal and external clients on ecological flow response monitoring and evaluation to support water reform and policy agendas.
Requirements
  • A comprehensive understanding of state and federal natural resource management frameworks.
  • Experience with hydrology models to assess changes to aquatic ecology.
  • Sound knowledge of statistical procedures and spatial analysis.
  • Appropriate degree-level tertiary qualifications in science, natural resources, or a related discipline.
