Payroll Specialist

This role requires a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail, ensuring that all payroll data is processed correctly and in compliance with relevant legislation and policies.

The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate records, processing end-to-end payroll cycles, interpreting and applying complex payroll legislation and agreements, and identifying and resolving discrepancies before they impact employees.

A key aspect of this role is building strong working relationships across HR, Finance, and operational teams to ensure payroll processes run smoothly and efficiently.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential, as the Payroll Specialist will need to explain payroll matters clearly to non-technical audiences and collaborate cross-functionally to achieve shared goals.

Requirements:
  • Proven experience in end-to-end payroll processing within a medium-to-large organisation.
  • Strong knowledge of payroll legislation, taxation, superannuation, and modern awards/enterprise agreements.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy, with strong numerical and analytical skills.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills to meet strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain payroll matters clearly to non-technical audiences.
  • A collaborative mindset, with the ability to work effectively with HR, Finance, and operational teams.
  • A commitment to confidentiality, integrity, and continuous improvement.
