The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist for a 12-month fixed-term role based in Melbourne. As a key member of our payroll team, you will play a pivotal role in administering, processing, reporting, and maintaining monthly salaried payroll for all wholly owned Australian entities.

This position ensures timely, accurate, and compliant payroll delivery, supporting operational efficiency and strategic decision-making.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process allocated monthly salaried payroll, including leave reconciliations, salary adjustments, and terminations.
  • Set up new starters and manage offboarding in accordance with established policies.
  • Maintain accurate payroll records and ensure the integrity of payroll ledgers.
  • Respond to payroll queries from across the business, providing expert guidance to managers and employees.
  • Prepare and distribute detailed payroll costing reports to relevant business units.
  • Mentor and provide guidance to junior team members, fostering best practice and continuous learning.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, system enhancements, and process optimization within payroll operations.
Requirements
  • Extensive payroll experience, ideally 3+ years in large corporate or operational environments.
  • Expertise in monthly salaried payroll processing and related reporting.
  • Strong knowledge of payroll legislation, awards, and best practices.
  • High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
  • Experience with enterprise payroll systems such as SAP, Kronos, or similar.
  • Proven ability to manage high-volume payroll and support business-wide payroll operations.
