Payroll Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Payroll Specialist to join our team in Hawthorn East. This is a full-time opportunity with free parking and access to an employee discount program & wellness hub.

About the Role:

  • Manage the payroll processing cycle for all employees in multiple Australian states.
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of Australian payroll legislation.
  • Liaise with Human Resources/Operations and Finance to ensure accurate employee data.
  • Implement and maintain payroll systems and processes that meet the company's needs.
  • Prepare and lodge necessary payroll documentation.
  • Address payroll-related queries or issues from employees.
  • Advise management on payroll, remuneration, and tax implications.
  • Prepare regular payroll reports for management.
  • Ensure confidentiality and security of all payroll records.

Requirements:

  • Comprehensive knowledge of Australian payroll legislation.
  • Proven experience in a payroll position managing payroll for a medium to large-sized company across multiple states.
  • High proficiency in payroll software and systems.
  • Excellent numerical and analytical skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Leadership: Ability to lead payroll projects and initiatives.

Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, this role requires a minimum of 5+ years' payroll experience, excellent written and spoken communication and interpersonal skills, attention to detail, numerical ability and data entry skills, ability to work to deadlines, understanding of payroll legislation and processes, ability to interpret awards and relevant legislation, proficient use of MYOB and Excel.
