About the Role

The Environment and Planning Specialist will be part of the Environment and Sustainability Team at TasNetworks, providing expert advice and support to the Major Transmission Projects Team. The role will focus on coordinating and reviewing key environmental, heritage, and planning documents.

As a key member of the team, you will work collaboratively to meet project outcomes while implementing TasNetworks' Environment and Sustainability Policy. You will ensure that relevant legislative standards and requirements are identified and met, and that associated risks are managed effectively.

You will provide guidance and support to the business, building effective working relationships and influencing for positive outcomes. Practical, risk-based, solution-focused, and up-to-date industry and environmental knowledge will be valued attributes of the role.

About You

Coupled with a Degree in Environmental Science/Land Use Planning (or equivalent) and experience working in a regulatory or planning approval environment, you will bring a thorough understanding of relevant environmental, land use planning, and cultural heritage issues. You will have a deep understanding of managing projects and obtaining approvals, offering strong time management and communication skills with a resilient and adaptable approach.

You will have a proven ability to collaborate with various internal and external stakeholders, seeking information and providing high-level advice.
