Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Accountant to join our team as a Financial Planning and Reporting Specialist. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the company's accounting function, including financial reporting, taxation, auditing, budgeting, cost management, planning, and advising on statutory compliance and performance requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare budgets, forecasts, and financial statements & reports for presentation to management; Analyse, investigate, and report on variances between actual and budget/forecast performance of the business;
  • Taxation and Auditing: Conduct audits, analyse data, and advise management on financial and taxation related matters on business operations and new projects; Maintain internal controls through improved record keeping practices for accurate financial reporting;
  • Cashflow Management: Manage cashflow by examining operating costs, income & expenditure for an up-to-date view of company finances in real time; Employ strict financial practices by implementing and maintaining tight financial controls;
  • Accounting System Maintenance: Maintain the company's computer-based accounting system and organise upgrades where necessary; Prepare month-end, quarterly and year-end financial reports for management and statutory bodies;
  • Tax Compliance: Manage the company's tax compliance, including Business Activity Statements (BAS), Fringe Benefits Tax (FBT) & Goods & Services Tax (GST).
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • An accounting degree; 1 – 3 years prior experience as an accountant; Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
Estimated Salary Range:

$75,000 p.a. + 11.5% superannuation
