About the Role


This position plays a pivotal role in ensuring the City's waterways and stormwater infrastructure are managed effectively, contributing to the community's well-being and safety. As an Environmental Stormwater Management Specialist, you will oversee the assessment of statutory permit applications and handle customer inquiries related to the Urban Drainage Act 2013.


The successful candidate will lead a cohesive team of engineers and technical officers, ensuring timely reviews and responses to applications. Close collaboration with internal and external stakeholders is crucial for a comprehensive and efficient assessment process. Additionally, this role involves managing stormwater and waterways enquiries, balancing legal obligations with exceptional customer service.


Key Accountabilities:



  • Managing the assessment of statutory permit applications;
  • Handling customer enquiries regarding stormwater management;
  • Coordinating with internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective collaboration;
  • Developing and implementing strategies for environmental stormwater management;
  • Providing professional advice and guidance on planning and development of stormwater assets;

About You:


We are seeking an experienced and skilled individual with a strong background in civil or environmental engineering. The ideal candidate will have experience in assessing planning, building, and plumbing applications, as well as familiarity with catchment management plans. They must be able to interpret hydraulic, hydrological, and water quality assessments, and have knowledge of statutory permit applications.


Requirements:



  • A degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering (or related field);
  • Experience in assessing planning, building, and plumbing applications;
