This is an exciting opportunity to grow as a Reliability Engineer at the largest site in BMA - Goonyella Riverside Mine in Central QLD. As part of this transformation, you will be working with Autonomous Haulage and the BHP Operating System (BOS) in a modern mining world. The mine is located 30 minutes North of Moranbah, QLD, offering various options for accommodation, including living locally, driving in and out, or flying in and out on a 5/2 roster.
About the Role
You will be reporting to the Superintendent Site Improvement and be part of a team of Reliability Engineers and Specialists who drive maintenance performance and benchmarking through defect elimination, analysis, continuous improvement, strategy, and reliability fundamentals. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to develop your career in reliability or utilize your current experience to bring depth to the team. Your key responsibilities include:
- Demonstrate alignment to BHP Charter Values and Our Code of Business Conduct;
- Demonstrate safety leadership by supporting the Field Leadership program to continuously improve safety performance;
- Build business partnerships and maintain strong working relationships with key stakeholders across the business;
- Support reliability improvements and eliminate defects in the end-to-end maintenance system, including parts, procedures, work quality, and processes;
- Analyse performance metrics and benchmark performance across the site and other BHP businesses;
- Support the development of operating standards, procedures, and work instructions (operational and maintenance);
- Analyse equipment life to determine capability and optimise maintenance activities;
- Develop and optimise maintenance strategies to maximise plant safety, reliability, and performance;
- Develop and increase the capability of the maintenance execution team to drive safety, reliability, efficiency, quality of work, and 'maintenance as a profession';
- Closely monitor equipment performance in relation to cost, performance, and reliability, complete targeted root cause analysis (RCA), and implement subsequent improvement actions;
- Provide coaching to the maintenance execution team on defect elimination and root cause analysis;
- Work closely with other functions within the organisation, including Maintenance and Engineering Centre of Excellence (MECoE), supply, and production departments;
- Deliver root cause analysis and 'failure type' reviews;
About You
The ideal candidate must have an engineering degree or trade qualification, be safety-conscious with proven risk management and HSEC behaviours, passionate about maintenance, continuous improvement, and reliability/defect elimination. They should also possess excellent time management skills, be able to prioritise tasks, and be a team player who can work effectively unsupervised and highly self-motivated. Experience with SAP and Asset Management Software is advantageous.

Salary and Benefits
The estimated salary for this role is around $120,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.
