About the Role

At BHP, we are seeking an experienced Senior Maintenance Operations Manager to lead our high-performing Maintenance Team at Goonyella Riverside Mine. In this critical role, you will be responsible for:

  • Maintaining a high profile in the promotion of safe working conditions and practices to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Oversight of compliance with legislation, safety systems, maintenance standards, and procedures.
  • Delivery of the weekly asset management plan, ensuring Maintenance and Production targets are achieved.
  • Management of major shutdowns and outages on Fixed Plant Equipment.
  • Effective budget management and contractor compliance.
  • Building capability within the team through development of Supervisors and Employees.
  • Communication and engagement with all relevant stakeholders.

  • A motivated, engaged, and supportive people leader with a proven track record of delivering high-performance outcomes safely.
  • A visible safety leader who develops and coaches their team.
  • Proven frontline leadership experience in Maintenance or Mining, preferably at a Superintendent level in the resources, energy, or heavy industrial sectors.
  • Strong engagement, influencing, and collaboration skills to achieve high-level outcomes with the team.
  • A trade or tertiary qualification in a relevant field.
