About Our Position

This is a unique opportunity to join our team as a Senior Aboriginal Cultural Healing Therapist. In this role, you will apply culturally safe approaches and holistic healing principles underpinned by VACCA's Cultural Therapeutic Ways framework.

As a specialist in the field of cultural healing, you will work seamlessly with other services to build therapeutic and sexual assault response capability.

About You

We are seeking an individual who demonstrates commitment and understanding of the values that underpin our vision and purpose. You should have awareness and appreciation of Aboriginal societies and cultures, and be committed to continually building knowledge of these.

Awareness of key issues impacting upon Aboriginal communities is essential. We also require an understanding of child development, strength-based trauma-informed practice specific to sexual assault, and the impact of trauma.

Requirements

  • A tertiary qualification and relevant experience working in a therapeutic or cultural healing context.
  • A full Victorian Driver's Licence, a current employment Working With Children Check card, and a clear National Police Check are required.
