Offender Education Specialist

Role Summary
We are seeking an experienced Education Officer to join our team in a Correctional Centre. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and developing courses that meet the requirements of accredited programs and training packages.
Key Responsibilities
- Implementing education assessment and planning processes to determine offender participation in appropriate education programs and services;
- Conducting classes with offenders who have varying learning needs, styles and interests, under the principles of adult learning;
- Developing course outlines and teaching and assessment resources for the delivery of courses which meet the accredited qualifications;
- Participating in evaluation processes including validation and moderation of assessment;
- Coordinating the provision of services in the Intensive Learning Centre related to education and training;
- Maintaining administrative duties related to teaching; and
- Contributing to offender case management by providing support and advice on education and employment pathways.
Qualifications and Requirements
- A Certificate IV in Training and Assessment;
- A current NSW Driver Licence.
