Work Injury Advisor Position

We seek a Work Injury Advisor to join our team. This role will involve providing guidance and assistance to claims staff to ensure effective injury management and successful return to work outcomes.

Job Description

The primary responsibility of the Work Injury Advisor will be to provide specialist technical support to claims teams, ensuring the delivery of a professional and customer-focused claims service. This will include developing staff and implementing quality initiatives to drive performance and culture.

  • Collaborate with Operational leaders to drive claims strategies and improve outcomes for all parties involved;
  • Provide specialist technical injury management advice and assistance to claims teams;
  • Work with Return to Work Specialists and Return to Independence Specialists to improve the injury management capability of staff;
  • Review and support decision-making for complex treatment and surgery requirements as required;
  • Develop and implement quality initiatives to drive performance and culture;
  • Identify opportunities for peer-to-peer discussions and group learning to remove complex return-to-work barriers.

This role requires strong communication and negotiation skills, as well as knowledge of workers' compensation industry business and administrative practices.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Minimum 2 years Claims Management/Injury Management experience within workers' compensation (or similar);
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
  • Strong negotiation and influencing skills;
  • Knowledge of workers' compensation industry business and administrative practices, policies, procedures, and guidelines;
  • Demonstrated experience influencing outcomes where complex claim barriers are identified.
