About the Role

Working as part of an interdisciplinary team, the Occupational Therapist is responsible for the provision of occupational therapy services to a community-based adult caseload with Acquired Brain Injury.

Duties include:

  • Providing occupational therapy services and evaluating best practice within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Maintaining evidence based and contemporary practice.
  • Implementing innovation to problem solve the needs of people living with brain injury.

The incumbent also assists the Senior Occupational Therapist by:

  • Contributing to the development of occupational therapy services within BISA as a member of the occupational therapy team.
  • Pursuing evidence-based practice and innovating in service delivery when required.
  • Contributing to the skill development of occupational therapy students.
Qualifications / Registrations:
  • Relevant qualification in Occupational Therapy.
  • Professional Registration with AHPRA.
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills incorporating excellent communication, organisational and negotiation skills.
  • Current (within the last 3 years) Disability Worker Check and DCSI Child related employment screening/Working with Children check.
  • NDIS knowledge / experience.
  • Experience in Neurological Occupational Therapy assessment and service delivery with Adults with ABI.

  • Clinical practice and case load management.
  • Understanding of practice knowledge and areas for growth/development.
