Global Health Project Manager for Pacific Region

Alfred Health is a leading healthcare provider in the inner southeast suburbs of Melbourne, offering a range of services from ambulatory to inpatient and home-based care.

We are seeking an experienced Program Manager to lead our Regional Emergency and Critical Care Systems Initiative (RECSI) program, which aims to improve emergency and critical care provision in Timor-Leste, Papua New Guinea, and Fiji.

The successful candidate will oversee the implementation of the program, ensuring adherence to project budgets, timelines, and governance requirements. They will work closely with clinical leads and report to the RECSI Governance Committee.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in international program or project management, stakeholder engagement, financial management, proposal development, data analysis, cross-functional collaboration, cultural competency, and ethical practices.

A minimum of five years' experience in implementing global health projects is required, as well as a tertiary qualification in international development, global health, public health, or related disciplines.

The Program Manager will be responsible for:

  • Project planning and management: Designing and coordinating project plans, briefings, reports, and presentations that align with RECSI objectives.
  • Stakeholder engagement: Cultivating relationships with partner organizations, in-country providers, clinicians, and staff.
  • Financial oversight and control: Preparing and reviewing budgets for project-related costs and monitoring expenditures.
  • Monitoring, evaluation, and learning: Coordinating activities with advisors and partners to ensure contractual requirements are met.
  • Content and communication: Developing and delivering impactful content to facilitate proactive transparent communication regarding project activities.
  • Data analysis and quality improvement: Collaborating with stakeholders to capture and analyze project data, inform quality improvement initiatives, and ensure adherence to best-practice standards.

In addition, the Program Manager will:

  • Liaise with stakeholders to facilitate program inputs and outputs related to Gender Equity, Disability and Social Inclusion (GEDSI).
  • Undertake additional responsibilities delegated within the scope of this position.
  • Work on-site in Melbourne and travel to other sites in Australia and potentially internationally.

This role requires exceptional written and verbal communication skills, knowledge of cultural competency for working in diverse Low and Middle-Income Countries (LMICs), and the ability to navigate various cultural landscapes.

Salary: AU$120,000 - AU$150,000 per annum, depending on experience.
