Job Summary:

Energy Vault is seeking a highly experienced Regional Health, Safety, and Environment Manager to join our team in the Asia Pacific region. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for driving the culture around safety and quality management systems, and the health and environment policies and plans across the region.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain all HSEQ policies and procedures for the deployment of projects and services across APAC, in line with Energy Vault's systems and ISO certifications.
  • Monitor and manage project and service sites, ensuring that all employees, contractors, and visitors adhere to all health, safety, environment, and quality policies, plans, and procedures.
  • Participate and act as Energy Vault's representative in interfacing with EPC contractors and subcontractors to confirm that contracts are being executed to the required standards and quality as provided in the specifications, scope, and construction documents.
  • Collaborate regularly with technical colleagues at Energy Vault to understand our energy storage systems and requirements and to review safety and quality standards in product development.
  • Provide company HSEQ controls to EPC contractors and subcontractors for adherence to contract terms and conditions, agreed costs and schedule, regulatory codes and standards, and project design basis.
  • Communicate and engage people at all levels and roles in HSEQ, developing and conducting trainings on various topics related to HSEQ programs, initiatives, and awareness for both regional and global teams.
  • Lead activities related to achieving or maintaining ISO or other certifications.
  • Participate in safety committees.
  • Develop and update/maintain written HSEQ plans, ensuring contractor's and subcontractor's adherence to agreed HSEQ requirements in quality of goods and services, preservation plan, scope, and contract terms and conditions.
  • Provide company controls and strict discipline to the quality assurance and quality control program that support change order management and approvals to these processes for both company representatives' requests, the EPC contractor, and subcontractors.
  • Perform site inspections in conjunction with project and service managers, identifying non-compliance issues and proactively working with teams to recommend/implement corrective actions on potential HSEQ hazards.
  • Conduct or oversee the investigation of work-related incidents, ensuring complete reporting and recommendations for remedial action.
  • Prepare and maintain budgets related to HSEQ initiatives.
  • Maintain a system of record for HSEQ initiatives.

Requirements:
  • 15+ years of experience, including as a manager, HSEQ or related responsibilities in large construction projects within the energy industry.
  • Bachelor's degree and certificate of competency in health, safety, environment, and quality or equivalent.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate with key stakeholders, including C-suite, and develop relationships across all areas of the business.
  • Advanced level of safety awareness and knowledge of applicable HSEQ regulations, including OFSC.
  • Proficient in common computer software, including Microsoft Office.
  • Comfort in fast-paced, rapid growth environments with tight deadlines and high-pressure environments.
  • Experience in matrix organizations in power, energy storage, and/or renewables.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and/or internationally, up to 30%.
