Ecological Consultant

We are seeking a skilled Ecological Consultant to join our team. As an Ecological Consultant, you will play a critical role in providing ecological advice and support throughout the construction phase of projects. Your work will directly support the ecological integrity of major infrastructure and development projects across Australia.

About the Role:

  • You will conduct ecological surveys and Fauna Spotter Catcher work on construction sites
  • Analyse field data and prepare clear, high-quality ecological reports
  • Apply best practice project management to ensure timely delivery
  • Use your knowledge of biodiversity conservation to contribute to site planning and mitigation
  • Engage with clients, regulatory bodies, and stakeholders
  • Support tender and proposal submissions with strong ecological inputs
  • Mentor junior staff and foster development within the team

Key Qualifications:

  • Degree-qualified in Ecology, Environmental Science, Biology, or related field
  • Strong understanding of Fauna Spotter Catcher responsibilities and ecological field methods
  • Excellent report writing and field data analysis skills
  • Working knowledge of environmental legislation (Qld, NSW, Victoria)
  • Confident in fauna handling and wildlife rescue principles
  • Proficient in GIS mapping
  • Knowledge of construction WHS protocols
  • A team player with strong communication skills and ability to work independently
