Lead Conservation Specialist

Ecosure seeks a dedicated and experienced professional to oversee field operations across South-East Queensland.

The ideal candidate will have 7+ years of fauna management experience in Australia, with a strong focus on leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Key responsibilities include managing and mentoring Wildlife supervisors and field team members, ensuring high-quality, safe and timely delivery of services such as fauna spotter catching, vertebrate pest management, and native wildlife conservation.

The successful candidate will be committed to biodiversity conservation and ecosystem restoration, with relevant licences/certifications (e.g. venomous snake handling, firearms, 4WD operation) and a passion for making a real difference.

About the Role

As a Lead Conservation Specialist, you will:

  • Develop and implement effective strategies to conserve and restore ecosystems
  • Oversee daily operations, resource planning, and equipment management
  • Champion WHS and quality compliance across all field activities
  • Support project delivery and client relationships
  • Conduct fieldwork including pest management, fauna spotter catching, nest box installation and other wildlife conservation works

You will work closely with Project Managers to deliver exceptional outcomes for clients and ecosystems, while upholding compliance standards and coordinating resources.

What You'll Bring

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Advanced level knowledge of native and pest fauna in Australia, including identification, capture, dispersal, relocation, and euthanasia practices
  • A strong drive to make a real difference in biodiversity conservation and ecosystem restoration
  • Relevant licences/certifications (e.g. venomous snake handling, firearms, 4WD operation)
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
