Job Title

The Asset Data Acquisition Specialist is a crucial role in the establishment and ongoing implementation, management, business reporting, assurance and continuous improvement of the transport asset data acquisition and assessment methodology.

The incumbent will ensure all asset data sets acquired meet the stated quality requirements for each specific asset data set request. This will involve significant engagement across internal and external stakeholders.

The role requires an active hands-on approach to achieve the position outcomes, including effective team leadership, project management and delivery, asset data acquisition requirements quality, effective stakeholder engagement, asset information requirements, and asset information management.

The incumbent will promote and support a safe, inclusive and flexible operation, ensuring compliance with all relevant requirements for all asset data acquisition field works.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership: Provide leadership, people management and support to project teams.
  • Project Management & Delivery: Lead the successful project management and delivery of various asset data collection projects.
  • Asset Data Quality: Facilitate and maintain the implementation of an agreed quality control / assurance process for each project.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Establish and maintain key relationships, communication and collaboration with necessary transport stakeholders.
  • Asset Information: Provide project level leadership and direction to the development and implementation of asset information requirements.
  • Asset Management: Provide specialist advice and input into the development and maintenance of asset inventory and condition data assessment and governance guidelines.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • A degree in a relevant field such as engineering, project management, data science, or information technology.
  • Proven experience in asset data acquisition and/or asset information & knowledge management.
  • Excellent leadership and project management skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
