GIS Data and Asset Specialist

The Asset Data and GIS specialist role involves ensuring the accuracy, reliability, and confidentiality of data in the Asset Management System (AMS) and Geographic Information System (GIS). This position is responsible for creating and managing data related to all physical assets in the AMS and GIS, as well as performing data cleaning and migration tasks.
- Collect and research asset and GIS data from various sources and stakeholders;
- Create and load asset and GIS data into relevant systems, ensuring existing data is reviewed for inaccuracies;
- Monitor, correct, and cleanse data;
- Develop and perform simple to complex data queries using different data languages within AMS and GIS;
- Assist in developing procedures and systems for asset data collection and documentation;
The GIS and Systems Support aspect of this role involves supporting the facilitation and maintenance of GIS, QGIS, and IntraMaps to enhance functionality and expand corporate use. This includes creating maps, updating property and extracting GIS data, providing spatial data to internal and external stakeholders, and troubleshooting problems within GIS.
To be considered for this role, applicants must have good knowledge of GIS, QGIS, and spatial data management, as well as SQL skills, strong IT skills, and excellent communication and presentation abilities.
A bachelor's degree in a highly relevant discipline, together with at least one year of post-graduate experience, is also required.
The successful candidate will work independently, but also as part of a professional team, and will be expected to work productively and manage their time effectively.
Applicants must have unrestricted rights to work full-time in Australia and hold an unrestricted Victorian driver's license.
