Director, Estate and Infrastructure Leadership
Lead the strategic direction and operational oversight of one of Australia's most iconic campuses.

The University is a world-leading institution, part of the prestigious Group of Eight, with a proud history of excellence in education, research and community impact.

As we look to the future, we are seeking a highly experienced and visionary leader to take on the role of Director, Estate and Infrastructure – a pivotal executive position shaping the physical, commercial and cultural footprint of our University for generations to come.

This is an opportunity to play a defining role in the stewardship and transformation of our estate and infrastructure portfolio.

You will be responsible for leading strategy, delivery and optimisation across property, infrastructure, operations and commercial services – ensuring our physical assets deliver maximum strategic value, support world-class teaching and research, and enhance the student experience.

Reporting to the Deputy Vice Chancellor Operations, you will lead a large multidisciplinary team across estate planning, property management, capital works, maintenance and commercial operations.

Key priorities include:

  • Setting and delivering our long-term estate, property and infrastructure strategy in alignment with the University's 2030 vision.
  • Overseeing major capital works and lifecycle asset planning across a complex, 24/7 operating environment.
  • Driving operational excellence in maintenance, compliance, safety and service delivery.
  • Leading cultural and operational transformation, embedding an integrated, commercially focused approach.
  • Optimising commercial outcomes and partnerships while preserving service quality and enhancing student/staff experiences.
  • Engaging effectively with government, industry and community stakeholders to enhance our reputation and opportunities.

About You

We are seeking an accomplished executive with a proven track record in leading estate, infrastructure, property or commercial operations within a large and complex organisation.

Key Requirements Include:

  • Significant experience delivering large-scale capital works and managing high-value asset portfolios.
  • Strong commercial acumen and ability to optimise asset performance and negotiate major partnerships.
  • Deep capability in strategic planning, governance, compliance and risk management.
  • Demonstrated leadership of large, multidisciplinary teams and transformational change initiatives.
  • Outstanding stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to influence at senior levels.
  • A passion for shaping environments that inspire learning, research, innovation and community connection.
