Disability Support Professional

About Our Services:

We provide high-quality, person-centered services and support under the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS). Our goal is to foster independence, promote inclusion, and enhance the lives of people with disabilities.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide support to clients in accordance with their NDIS plans.
  • Assist clients with daily living activities, such as eating, dressing, bathing, and grooming.
  • Provide transportation assistance to clients.
  • Provide respite care to clients and their families.
  • Keep accurate and up-to-date records of clients' care plans and progress.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, their families, and other members of the care team.
  • Follow health and safety regulations to ensure the safety and well-being of clients.
  • Attend regular meetings with clients and their families to review and adjust their NDIS plans as needed.
  • Provide training and education to clients and their families on how to navigate the NDIS system.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current with the latest developments and best practices in the NDIS field.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of a high school or equivalent education.
  • At least 1 year of experience working with people with disabilities.
  • Experience with dementia is highly regarded.
  • Strong understanding of the NDIS and its guidelines.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Experience with CRM software and NDIS portals.
  • Understanding of health and safety regulations.
  • Ability to work with a diverse client base, understanding the different support needs based on clients' abilities, cultural backgrounds, and language requirements.
  • Basic care and first aid skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
