Join Our Team as a Communication Officer

About the Role:

The Communication Officer is a key position within Central Coast Council, responsible for developing and implementing strategic communications plans to inform and engage our community and internal staff. This role requires a high level of expertise in communication channels, including social media, intranet, website, and media releases.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide specialist advice to stakeholders on communication issues affecting Central Coast Council and support staff engagement initiatives.
  • Plan and implement annual communication campaigns, including coordination of multiple channels within a reputation management framework.
  • Accurately plan, prepare, and construct a wide range of Council materials, including media statements, display advertisements, brochures, and digital communication activities.

About You:

  • Hold a degree in Communications, Media, Marketing, or a related field, with solid experience in a similar role in a large and complex organization.
  • Bring a strategic and innovative approach to ensure solutions deliver on business objectives.
  • Have excellent stakeholder management skills and ability to influence and negotiate effectively.
  • Enjoy working in a supportive team environment, but can deliver results autonomously as required.
