As a key member of our communications team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic communications plans to inform and engage our community, as well as our internal staff, on matters of importance.

About the Role:

  • Develop and implement annual communication campaigns across multiple channels, including social media, intranet, website, and media releases.
  • Provide specialist advice to stakeholders on all communication issues affecting the Central Coast Council and support the implementation of staff engagement initiatives.
  • Plan, prepare, and construct a wide range of Council materials, including newspaper columns, media statements, display advertisements, brochures, fact sheets, briefing notes, speech notes, and digital communication activities.

  • Work closely with the communications team to ensure consistency and quality of all communications materials.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including media, community groups, and internal staff.

About You:

  • Hold a degree in Communications, Media, Marketing, or a related field, with solid contemporary experience in a similar role in a large and complex organization with a high public profile.
  • Have experience across the full range of communications channels and bring a strategic and innovative approach that ensures solutions deliver on business objectives.
  • Have strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to influence and negotiate effectively.
  • Enjoy being part of a supportive and creative team, but can deliver results autonomously as required.
  • Be able to manage your time effectively under pressure and adapt to changing priorities.
