Job Description

Job Title: Deputy Principal - Senior Campus

Job Summary:

The Australian Capital Territory is seeking a highly motivated and experienced school leader to join our senior executive team as a Deputy Principal - Senior Campus. This is a full-time permanent position located on the senior campus of Melba Copland Secondary School, a dual campus year 7 to 12 school with rapidly growing enrolments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Co-Lead Operational Requirements: Collaborate with the senior executive team to lead the operational requirements of the senior campus, ensuring the smooth delivery of educational programs and services to students.
  • Grow Multi-Tiered System of Support Model: Work with the senior executive team to develop and implement the Multi-Tiered System of Support Model (MTSS) at Melba Copland Secondary School, including Flexible Learning and Transition and Careers Education.
  • Lead Implementation of PBL Framework: Strategically lead the implementation of the Project-Based Learning (PBL) framework and trauma-informed practices across the senior campus.
  • Wellbeing Support Processes: Lead the development and implementation of wellbeing support processes and case management structures for students in years 10 to 12.
  • Inclusive Education Philosophies: Develop and implement inclusive education philosophies and practices that promote student growth and success.
  • Cross-Campus Collaboration: Work collaboratively with the Wellbeing and Inclusion Deputy Principal (Years 7-9) to establish consistent practices and a positive school culture across both campuses.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • A minimum of 4 years full-time (or equivalent) tertiary study leading to a recognized school teaching qualification.
  • Current professional teaching registration with the ACT Teacher Quality Institute (TQI) or eligibility to obtain TQI.
  • Working with Vulnerable People (WWVP) registration prior to commencing the role.
